Mission
Grove House is a non-profit organization
whose mission is to assist people with
developmental and acquired disabilities
to maximize their inclusion into
the community enabling them to lead
more productive, dignified and
independent lives.

Philosophy
We believe that all people with disabilities have the right to explore their ability to live and work independently. We take pride in the fact that ALL of our services are community-based.
History

Grove House Supportive Services began in 1993 and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit agency in Jacksonville Florida.  We have expanded in the past 15 years to meet the tremendous need for appropriate and affordable residential opportunities and employment options to people with developmental disabilities (mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, etc.) and acquired brain injuries (strokes, accident victims, etc.)

We have grown from one group home assisting six people, to three programs serving over 100 people. We strive to be entrepreneurial, to “think outside of the box” and to diversify funding sources as we struggle to meet this need. Today our homes range far beyond the original “Grove House” into all the neighborhoods of Jacksonville. We have many hands---coaches, volunteers, supporters, who all make Grove House Supportive Services the best program of its type in Jacksonville.

The Grove House home, located on Claire Lane in Mandarin, has an orange grove in the back yard and is the signature property for Grove House Supportive Services. Look for our famous annual “Orange Festival” coming in December! Women with brain injuries live independently in this house, with the support of our coaches.  Originally Grove House was funded by the generous support of The Sontag Foundation, JFCS, The Jacksonville Housing Commission, and other community leaders.
